If you’ve recently utilized the ACP service or a combination of ACP and Lifeline, we ask you to take a moment to carefully read this blog for crucial information related to the ACP wind down. We appreciate your understanding!

Why and when will ACP be winding down?

Due to a depletion of funds, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is set to wind down soon (according to the FCC reference). Initially, Congress allocated approximately $14.2 billion for ACP. However, the high volume of users and new registrations has accelerated the exhaustion of funds this spring. While no additional funding has been secured yet, the situation is uncertain, and we encourage you to maintain a positive outlook based on the latest news (outlined in Benton Institute for Broadband & Society reference). Furthermore, according to The White House’s ACP extension statement in 2023, they are actively pursuing additional funds for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) through at least December 2024 and likely beyond. As a result, we have compelling reasons to believe.

According to the latest information from the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), starting February 8th, 2024, new enrollments in the ACP will be frozen until further notice. But don’t worry! From now until there’s an announcement of ACP’s final date, your phone service will continue uninterrupted.
